The Accounting Manager will be responsible for ensuring our financial statements are prepared accurately and promptly on a monthly basis. They will also be instrumental in designing, implementing and monitoring processes and controls over all operational accounting functions.

As the Accounting Manager you will:

  • Create, evolve and manage the revenue recognition and reporting process related to our lending, brokerage and custody business lines.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities to ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal policies, and external audits.
  • Manage the monthly financial close process, collaborating with other stakeholders to ensure all costs incurred are properly recorded.
  • Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements, including flux analysis.
  • Proactively work with external auditors to drive audit completion.
  • Prepare investor updates, including month over month cash burn analytics and trend explanations.
  • Facilitate the design and implementation of new financial and accounting software and integration tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on accounting implications of new and existing product offerings.
  • Perform special, ad-hoc projects as needed.

You may be a fit for this role if:

  • You have 5+ years of accounting experience at a high-growth pre-IPO startup (broker-dealer and/or lending experience is a strong plus!)
  • You have 2+ years of audit experience at a Big 4 accounting firm.
  • You're experienced with consolidations in a multi-currency, multiple legal entity environment, including international entities and foreign currency translation.
  • You have a proven track record of driving exemplary financial performance and accountability.
  • You have excellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to drive cross functional projects to completion.
  • You are comfortable managing multiple high-volume workloads in a fast-paced environment.
  • You are detail-oriented, self-motivated and passionate about bringing order to chaos.

Although not a requirement, bonus points if:

  • You’re familiar with regulatory finance and operations and have interfaced directly with FINRA in the past.
  • You have a BA/BS in Accounting, Business, Economics and/or Finance; CPA preferred.
  • You've kept up to date with the proliferation of blockchain and crypto innovations.
  • You have experience implementing an ERP system such as Netsuite, SAP or Oracle.
  • You have worked at or with institutional investment funds.
  • You were emotionally moved by the soundtrack to Hamilton, which chronicles the founding of a new financial system. :)
