What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to facilitate contract execution and manage contract workflow
  • Provide day-to-day legal support for various corporate governance matters, including corporate record retention and preparation of board meeting minutes, resolutions, and agendas
  • Respond to requests for information and documents from our internal and external auditors, regulators, partners, and other stakeholders
  • Assist in the review of company policies and procedures, and ensure proper posting and distributing to employees and customers
  • Conduct legal and information research to provide direct support for the US Legal Department and internal business team members, as needed
  • Develop, organize, and maintain a boos and records system in compliance with retention requirements
  • Coordinate as needed with members of the broader Legal team in Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malta
  • Assist with special projects as needed, with the ability to work in an ever-changing environment

What We Look For In You:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 4-5 years of in-house legal department experience
  • Previous in-house experience at a Fintech start-up desirable
  • Experience managing a wide variety of corporate governance matters
  • Ability to assist in the development of various internal legal processes, policies, and playbooks
  • Experience working on cross-jurisdictional matters and a global legal team
  • Self-starter, quick learner with sense of urgency, highly driven and proactive
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Nice to Haves:

  • Professional/personal experience and enthusiasm for cryptocurrencies / blockchain
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, growth-stage and multi-cultural environment
  • Experience with commercial contract review processes
  • Mandarin Chinese fluency and ability to do first-draft translations from Chinese to English
  • Formal legal education (Bar admission not required)
