Role Description

Galaxy Digital is seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and hands-on Financial Controller to join our organization. This person must thrive in an environment that is rapidly growing and constantly changing. The Financial Controller will be expected to present to senior management, tailoring presentations appropriately. Working with the front office principal investments team, in-house and external valuation experts will be a critical component of this role.


  • Report directly to the Director, Financial Controller, and interface directly with senior management team members
  • Lead financial accounting and controls for approximately 20 legal entities covering the following business lines:
    • Principal investments
    • Asset managers of the Galaxy sponsored funds
    • Broker dealer (outsourced FinOp)
    • SPAC
    • Central services entities and holding companies
  • Lead financial operations (primarily AP)
  • Manage 5 FTE
  • Manage the audit process surrounding the 80+ (and growing) on-balance sheet investments
  • Work with front office teams to determine accounting implications of new business / investments
  • Develop, implement and upgrade controls and procedures to ensure the function will be Sarbanes Oxley ready compliant in the near future.
  • Research and analyze accounting matters / Drafting and implementing formal accounting policies; evaluate current accounting practices and procedures and drive continuous improvement
  • Enhance intra-group funding, transfer pricing & equity accounting and documentation
  • Enhance management reporting capabilities via expanded use of Netsuite available fields
  • Rationalize entities to the extent possible
  • Special projects, as needs arise
  • Work closely with various front office and back-office teams: Investments, Advisory, Asset Management, Trading Finance, SEC Reporting, FP&A, Risk Management, Legal, Tax & Operations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • CPA
  • Experience with accounting for and management of Principal Investments
  • Experience with fair value accounting / valuations
  • Experience with hands on accounting: comfort working within the general ledger (approving JE’s, running reports, analyzing data)
  • Experience managing a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiar with accounts payable operations
  • Experience with Sarbanes Oxley compliance
