About the Team

Our Global Identity and Onboarding team is at the heart of managing and balancing risk and reward for our global platform. This is a great opportunity to bring your extensive knowledge, expertise, and leadership to continue building and maturing this function. We work closely with all our key stakeholders, such as Compliance, Product, Engineering, Customer Service, Marketing, Risk Operations to successfully launch various growth campaigns and new products while understanding the associated risks with identity and onboarding for business growth.

About the Opportunity 

We are looking for an experienced Head of Global Identity and Onboarding to join our fast-growing global operations team. This role will develop, lead, and oversee our Onboarding and Identity strategies, programs, processes, and front-line teams. This senior leader will report to our Chief Customer and Risk Officer, and take full accountability to grow and lead the operations team responsible for building out and managing operational processes and programs required to comply with regulatory, KYC, and onboarding requirements on a global scale.

The right leader in this role should have a solid understanding of anti-money laundering (AML) requirements, including Know Your Customer/Business (KYC/KYB). Successful candidates for the role will have a minimum of 5+ years experience managing teams within payments, fintech, or financial services, and growing high performing, global teams.

At your core, you’ll thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, process-driven environment and be able to adapt and adjust plans on-the-fly. You must also have strong prioritization skills and willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get the job done. Most importantly, you’ll drive results and significantly support the growth and adoption of our platform and features, while building the risk and rewards culture to enable business growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Define the global vision, direction, high-level priorities, strategies and  goals for the Identity and Onboarding operations team in collaboration with cross functional stakeholder
  • Lead and grow a high performing global operations team and continue to evolve and mature the people, processes and technology 
  • Hire, develop, and retain key talent while adding bench strength and structure to the team
  • Identify gaps in current systems, processes, policies and strategies, and propose data-backed enhancements and improvements to mitigate emerging risks, or optimize for efficiency and quality
  • Provide guidance on complex, high-visibility cases, processes, and projects; adapting and realigning priorities in response to emergent challenges or shifting business priorities
  • Lead operational strategy development cross functionally in partnership with Compliance, Risk, and Product teams
  • Assist with coordination of regulatory exams, financial partner audits, or internal business unit assessments in relation of Identity and Onboarding operations as needed

What We Look For In You:

  • 5+ years of senior leadership experience in a related business functions with a history (and preference) of being strategic, analytical and operational execution-oriented
  • Must have a solid understanding and experience in deploying global identity and onboarding programs aligned to KYC and AML requirements
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing risk operational strategies for optimization and efficiency
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing risk technology strategies and solutions
  • Strong capabilities and experience in driving analytics to enable business growth while balancing risk and rewards
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of business functions, with an emphasis on key business partners and senior management
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the abilities to adopt a roll up your sleeves and just do it mindset and mentality 
  • Natural coach, mentor and leader, with commitment to supporting team growth by adopting effective employee engagement and diversity strategies.

Nice to Haves:

  • You either are already or are eager to become an expert in the blockchain and cryptocurrency landscape and will understand how speculators, traders, digital asset exchanges, blockchain money services businesses and financial institutions operate. 
  • Familiarity with product management processes and tools
  • MBA preferred, but not required
  • Experience working with teams across offices and timezones
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English
