About the Role

Do you obsess communities and stories that sit at the intersection of tech and culture? We at Kraken are building a world class brand marketing org and are looking for people who understand how to build community and brand reputation in compelling, creative and innovative ways. We believe the future is paved by crypto and it will have creativity and culture at the center.

As the Brand Operations Lead, you are someone who understand the value of organizations, planning and process. You will guide the operations team across complex projects and process in both high-level annual planning and tactical campaign management. You will be the project voice at all checkpoints to ensure the projects and initiatives are healthy, on-time and on budget. You are always curious and understands how to build complex marketing programs that connect the Kraken community in creative ways. You are a leader that can adapt to your situation and will always be there for your team. We focus on quality in our storytelling and we are thoughtful and calculated with our big bets. You understand the importance of process, deadlines and accountability. You aren’t afraid to speak up when the project is being neglected, or process is breaking down. You are always seeking to improve the ways we do things and the tools that help assist in being a world-class brand organization.

  • You will set up the process and manage the people who run the process to make us a world-class brand marketing organization
  • You establish process, meetings, agendas and timelines for the Brand Marketing Function and campaigns.
  • Work back with other key brand marketing leaders in partnerships, research, media and strategy to orchestrate full brand initiatives.
  • Make data-driven decisions when framing process, meetings, and tools.
  • Set up key meetings, set the agenda, record notes and publish discussions for Brand Marketing function.
  • Meetings include, but not limited to
    High Level Dates and Gates for campaigns
    Quarterly OKRs
    Annual plans
    Brand Partnership Weekly
    Brand QBR Prep
  • Manage large scale, sophisticated budgets
  • Take a diplomatic leadership approach to involve stakeholders early and get cross-functional work done; be a proactive leader and decision-maker
  • Be on the forefront of culture and innovation in marketing
  • Understand the full marketing mix across paid, owned and earned and when to pull various marketing channels (events, digital, social, tv, podcast, innovation).


  • 7+ years of previous experience in operations, planning and strategy in brand marketing, digital marketing, brand strategy.
  • Has worked at a premium brand, matrixed organization, creative agency
  • Concise speaker, storyteller, and writer: you can slice, dice, and distill a narrative from a complex data set into an executive summary
  • You have built and led sophisticated, matrixed teams that are distributed globally.
  • An amazing pulse on what is relevant in culture and can understand how Understand persona work and how to grow a brand through strategic planning
  • Previous crypto experience not required but certainly a plus!

Nice to Have

  • Geo-specific, global client experience in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, EMEA, or Latin America
  • You’ve got a couple of moonshot ideas for transforming marketing in crypto
  • You’ve got an ease about you: you address urgency head-on and handle difficult, ambiguous situations with a clear, cool head and an open mind
