About the Role - 100% Remote


Senior Engineering Manager is an inflection point in your management career, where you manage multiple teams with Engineering Manager direct reports and occasionally, Principal Engineers. You likely relinquish personal ownership of code (although we expect that you stay embroiled in the details of your team’s projects and still do some technical work yourself). Like Staff Software Engineer on the Software Engineer track, you’re self-directed, working cross-functionally with stakeholders across the business, delivering work that impacts the engineering organization as a whole, and driving your part of your organization’s roadmap.
The goal for a Senior Engineering Manager is to deeply understand all the technology used by all the teams within your organisation, maintains the bar for production operation and monitoring of all teams within their organizational chain by developing processes to hold them accountable, manage your Engineering Managers careers, expectations, performance and level of happiness, adjust organization wide processes by listening to feedback and guiding all teams through the changes whilst owning projects and initiatives that have organization wide impact.

Basic Qualifications

      • 8+ years of full-time professional engineering experience
      • Deep knowledge of software development and delivery best practices, you know when a team isn’t moving fast enough and you know how to fix it
      • Experience building and running multiple highly effective software engineering teams
      • Experience planning Software Engineers and Engineering Managers careers, coaching them to promotion
      • Experience hiring talented engineers and managers, you have a clear understanding of what it takes to be an excellent Software Engineer or Engineering Manager
      • Clear passion for both software engineering and Crypto

Preferred Qualifications

      • 12+ years of full-time engineering experience within a large technology organization or fast growing startup
      • Experience building and running highly effective software engineering teams within a large technology organization or from the ground up at a fast growing startup
      • Experience scaling teams in a “hypergrowth” environment, you’ve lived through “blank check” hiring and have had to scale hiring pipelines and loops in order to accommodate
      • Experience designing lightweight processes and systems that help multiple teams work for effectively and scale
      • Experience driving solutions to key business problems, even if the requirements are not clear
      • Deep knowledge of HTML, CSS, TypeScript, React (or React Native)
      • Understanding of scalable JavaScript architecture patterns and client side systems design
