BlockFi is looking for a Senior Associate, Security to join our growing team!
About Your Team
At BlockFi, our Security Team works across the entire spectrum of technologies and products that power our business, protecting over ~$10B in value.
This is a unique role that reports into the Security Strategy team and will be focused on solving complex, in-house problems, often where off the shelf solutions do not exist. The Security Team is largely remote, working across timezones and prides itself on being solutions-focused. While facing incredibly complex threats in an ever-change security landscape, BlockFi has continued to thrive and needs the right tools built by passionate and energetic people.
Your Mission
As a Senior Associate on the Security Team, this role will directly impact work streams across our core functions: security operations and incident response, threat intelligence, red team, and fraud and risk. As a security team we need to continuously refine our security posture, by improving what exists or building what doesn’t. The Security Strategy team serves as the primary technical execution arm for the Chief Security Officer for the firm’s most sensitive projects. You will play a key role in those projects by navigating complex security problems, and you will provide insight and technical project management oversight to teammates and stakeholders. You will work closely with developers as well as business and legal & compliance stakeholders on various security-related initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Support in the project management and day to day operations of the Security Strategy team, working across multiple projects concurrently.
- Work with the Security and Product teams at BlockFi to develop novel security solutions to safeguard client assets
- Work with leadership to help shape the Security Strategy for the organization
- Communicate technical and security concepts to business stakeholders across the organization
- Work cross-functionally with multiple BlockFi teams
Your Expertise
- Deep knowledge of the cryptocurrency ecosystem (BTC, ETH, etc.) and underlying technologies (blockchain, PoW, PoS, etc.)
- Deep knowledge of cybersecurity including domains such as application security, risk & controls, vulnerability management, and product security
- Knowledge of crypto asset custody and the security domains to support the safekeeping of digital assets
- Ability to work effectively and independently to understand project scope and influence a wide range of stakeholders to achieve project deliverables across multiple projects
- Strong background in managing Agile and waterfall projects, defining and implementing various frameworks
- Experience in leading and supporting a technology team (ex: Security, Engineering, Cloud, DevOps, Product) with delivery of projects and cross-functional initiatives
- Experience with tracking reporting on project status, meeting minutes and driving action items through resolution
- Bonus Points for prior experience with production grade cryptocurrency custody solutions and processes
