VP Digital Experience / Web3

BAKEUP Beauty is a startup beauty company launching in Summer 2022.  A collision of two visionary creators – singer/songwriter Grace Gastaud and celebrity makeup artist Jo Baker –  BAKEUP is a disruptive beauty brand built for the next generation. Existing in the space between Web 2.0 and Web 3.0, BAKEUP translates the passion between makeup artistry and personal storytelling from the physical into the digital worlds, and back again. Offering digital makeup for your avatar, as well as IRL skincare, color and unique facial embellishments for a boundary-breaking looks that range from fresh and functional to ethereal and fantastical, BAKEUP allows every face to tell its own unique story. With the promise of helping you tap into your truth and express yourself through supersonic artistry, BAKEUP plays where you play – whether it’s in your bathroom, in the metaverse, or somewhere in between. 

The Company is currently seeking a VP Digital Experience/Web3 to join the team as it builds a world-class, next generation direct-to-consumer experience across traditional ecommerce and social media platforms alongside emerging Web3 environments.  This role is perfect for the experienced executive level digital marketer who has a proven interest, network, and aptitude for Web3 and its emerging ecosystem. This new position will be responsible for driving profitable revenue via ecommerce, but with a clear mission to invite a new generation of consumers to BAKEUP and create a vibrant community of beauty lovers and digital explorers. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Build digital infrastructure across Web2 and Web3 for high growth start up in beauty that integrates key elements of the Web3 ecosystem to expand the boundaries of traditional beauty
• Build a team of internal and external resources appropriate for Company roadmap and size, with an eye to scalability
• Lead traditional ecommerce operations and growth strategies to drive profitable revenue, while shaping how consumers engage with the brand in Web3
• Lead Web3 partnerships and collaborations, integrating NFTs into marketing strategy to bring together metaverse and IRL experiences, including exclusive engagement opportunities
• Research, secure and engage with highly relevant NFT projects and communities across the Web3 ecosphere
• Build and manage customer loyalty programs leveraging NFTs and digital platforms, creating long term lifetime value
• Identify opportunities for developing/implementing gamification experiences within social strategy
• Build and be a leading voice within a growing strong social community around brand, engaging with fans and moderating interactions, specifically on Discord, Twitter and Twitch
• Partner with external social agency to ensure alignment and implementation of social strategy across all platforms
• Be a visible leader within the emerging Web3 industry, attending events, speaking on panels, engaging in industry conversations, reviewing industry developments in tech/beauty to leverage market trends where appropriate 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• 10-15 years of experience in best practice digital marketing, including driving profitable revenue through ecommerce via proven growth strategies, social media engagement, and marketing
• 2 years of personal and/or professional experience engaging in Web 3.0 activity and communities, including but not limited to blockchain/cryptocurrency/NFTs/metaverse platforms/DAOs/gaming
• Proven track record of successfully launching and growth new businesses
• Ability to communicate effectively within all levels of the organization, from the Board to each team member and partner.
• Understanding blockchain as a consumer product, and how NFTs create and build value for a community of passionate consumers
• Entrepreneurial mindset, flexible and ability to work in a dynamic environment
• Self-starter with ability to work independently and remotely
• Executive with a focus on strength-based leadership
• Team player, with an ability to be flexible, supportive, and collaborative
