Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join our ZenHub team who will help us ship outstanding product features, standardize our component library, and suggest new processes to deliver high-quality polished code.

In this role, you will join a team of other engineers, architect new features and modules, work closely with designers, keep our codebase lean and modern, and help stamp out technical debt.

What we’ll accomplish together:

  • Make every user interaction with our product a delightful and polished experience.
  • Define best practices for UI design, user experience and general software development.
  • Contribute to the ideation, technical design, implementation, and testing of product features.
  • Improve technical skills, share knowledge with the rest of the team and act as a mentor for other developers.
  • Identify ways our technical stack can improve, prioritize them with the team, and make them happen.
  • Champion high standards for code quality, test coverage and continuous deployment goals.
  • Adopt best practices in software development and refine our workflow.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Has expert knowledge of JavaScript.
  • Has professional experience with building React applications using either Redux or Apollo (and GraphQL).
  • Has a great understanding of build toolchains using Webpack, Babel, and Gulp.
  • Has deep knowledge of CSS and how to organize it in large-scale applications.
  • Has experience scaling and optimizing the performance of web applications.
  • Has a good eye for design, a solid understanding of user experience principles and experience collaborating with design and product teams using tools like Invision, Abstract, or Figma.
  • Has experience with cross-platform testing and identifying browser edge cases.
  • Has experience building responsive web applications that work well on both desktop and mobile devices.
  • Has great communication skills; works closely with his team to make the product better every day.

Bonus points if you have the following:
  • Experience building browser extensions or user scripts.
  • Experience with Node.js and Ruby on Rails backend development.
  • Experience with deep third-party API integrations (eg. GitHub).
