About the team:

The role sits in the Brand Engagement team, which sits within the Global Marketing team. We work to define our global brand strategy and activations, collaborating closely with local markets to support their country-specific marketing and brand initiatives. We are strategic and creative thinkers and doers, responsible for getting audiences around the world to connect with our brand and product. We are looking for driven, flexible and creative talent to help us do this using storytelling, big ideas and inspiring design in integrated journeys across touchpoints and channels. In order to tackle our strategic goal of making crypto appealing and relatable to the mass market, our work is heavily focused on insight and messaging. We work collaboratively with all our growth and marketing team to explore and shape this once in a lifetime brand & marketing challenge, together.

The role in a nutshell:

We’re looking for a creative, digital-first brand designer, with a strong foundation in traditional graphic design principles - typography, colour theory, layout, composition - coupled with strong motion design skills and a passion for digitally-native content. 

You will work closely with our African markets (South Africa, Nigeria and more as we grow our footprint) to support their creative marketing and brand initiatives across all channels, including TV, OOO and social media. You will work on a wide range of content from event promotion to campaigns with brand ambassadors and acquisition content that helps explain our product and why people should use Luno to invest in Bitcoin and get started with crypto.

Your mission will be:

  • Use your design and motion skills to execute effective and compelling digital and video assets for brand and social campaigns
  • Take design briefs and deliver exciting and skillful motion design content: develop multiple concepts, storyboard them, get feedback, iterate, bring them to life with fast and effective motion design work.
  • Execute motion work as part of significant multi-channel campaigns with a focus on African markets 
  • Continuously provide new creative ideas and execute content for our in-house performance marketing, brand & social engagement teams
  • Help shape the motion library for the Brand Design team, and manage digital marketing assets with rigour and efficiency
  • Help develop processes and systems that support efficient design workflow at scale.
  • Work closely with Brand and Content teams to understand and deliver on marketing & communications briefs for a global mass-market audience

A little about you:

  • Strong years design experience, including experience working in-house for a digital-first or digitally integrated business (eg. app or ecommerce), in a digital-first agency or on digital-first accounts;
  • Strong design and motion design experience (video editing a plus)
  • World-class portfolio of integrated / omni-channel marketing content, work in social video content is particularly desirable
  • A customer-first mindset, familiarity with core marketing concepts (eg. customer benefit) and interest in working with data & insights
  • A genuine interest in collaborating with other disciplines and using your craft to drive shared success and business impact.
  • Autonomy and excellent organisational skills
  • A solid creative point of view and a real passion for our craft: design, creativity and technology
  • Tact, diplomacy, common sense and maturity in interacting with people at all levels
